To provide reliable and timely mobile notary service to every client, the following policies apply to mobile appointments. All applicable fees will be disclosed and agreed upon before the appointment whenever possible.
Travel fees are separate from notarial fees and are based on the one-way distance to the appointment location:
Up to 10 miles — $20
11–20 miles — $30
21–30 miles — $40
Over 30 miles — Custom quote
Appointments more than 30 miles away are considered on a case-by-case basis. The travel fee will be quoted and agreed upon before the appointment, and Carolina Bilingual Notary Services reserves the right to decline appointments outside its practical service area.
Clients may cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge when at least 2 hours’ notice is provided.
If an appointment is canceled with less than 2 hours’ notice before the Notary has begun traveling, the first occurrence will be treated as a courtesy late cancellation with no charge. Repeat late cancellations may require a nonrefundable booking deposit before another appointment is scheduled.
Once the Notary has begun traveling to the appointment, the full agreed-upon travel fee is due if the client cancels or reschedules. No notarial fee will be charged for a notarial act that was not performed.
Clients receive a 15-minute grace period after the scheduled appointment time.
If the client cannot be reached or is unavailable after 15 minutes, the appointment may be considered a no-show, and the Notary may leave. The agreed-upon travel fee remains due.
If the client makes contact and requests additional waiting time, waiting beyond the first 15 minutes is $10 per additional 15-minute period and is subject to the Notary’s availability. Additional waiting cannot be guaranteed.
If the Notary arrives but the notarization cannot be completed for reasons outside the Notary’s control—for example, required identification is unavailable, a required signer is not present, the document is incomplete, or the requested service cannot lawfully be performed—the agreed travel fee remains due.
No notarial fee will be charged for a notarial act that is not performed.
Clients are responsible for providing the correct appointment address.
If an incorrect address is provided or the client requests service at a different location after the Notary has traveled to the original location, the original travel fee remains due. Any additional travel will require a new travel fee quoted and agreed upon before the Notary proceeds.
The Notary may decline travel to the new location due to distance, scheduling, or other circumstances.
When an appointment requires travel to more than one location, each additional location is treated as a separate mobile trip and may have its own travel fee.
Any additional travel fee will be disclosed and agreed upon before traveling to the additional location.
Any required parking charges, tolls, or other location-specific access fees are the responsibility of the client and are separate from the regular travel and notarial fees.
Known charges will be disclosed in advance whenever possible.
Carolina Bilingual Notary Services may delay, reschedule, or cancel an appointment when weather, flooding, road conditions, emergencies, or other safety concerns make travel unsafe.
Clients will not be charged a cancellation fee when the Notary cancels or reschedules an appointment for safety reasons.
